I have an incredible customer service story.
My wife had an appointment with a Doctor at a local hospital. Unfortunately, one of her Mother’s cousins passed away and the funeral would prevent her from making the appointment.
She called the Dr.’s office and explained that due to a death in the family, she needed to change her appointment. They were very nice and found her an earlier appointment.
Imagine our surprise, when, a few days later, we received a sympathy card from the Dr.’s office!!
I was stunned. This was over and above customer service. If they had not done this, I would have thought a thing, but the thought of performing that one little task just bowled me over.
Seems to me this doctor’s office understands that caring isn’t only physical.
This may sound a little bit superficial, but I was delighted by it.
My treasured GHD hair straighteners stopped working, and were only just over one month out of guarantee. As I didn’t want to try to repair them myself, I contacted the Customer Service Office in Spain mainland (I live in the Belearic Islands). I explained what had happened and asked if they could give me an estimate for repairing them, as I knew that, according to various websites, they weren’t that easy to fix. I was told to send them by post, and that they would pick up the bill for that. So I did.
After a few days, I got a ‘phone call to say that they couldn’t be repaired. I was devastated as they’re not the cheapest of hair straighteners!. However, I was then informed that because I had taken the time to contact them, rather than try to get them repaired elsewhere, that they were going to send me a new pair of hair straighteners that had only been used to demonstrate with a couple of times, with a year’s guarantee, and which colour did I prefer: black, purple or bright pink???. Plus GHD paid for the postage!.
I was over the moon and told every single one of my female friends and work colleagues about it, until they basically told me stop going on about GHD!!.
Now, that’s an experience!
